Long Beach Township Layout
The largest municipality on Long Beach Island is Long Beach Township (LBT) which covers different locations throughout the Island. Since some buyers do have a preference of the particular area they would like a home or investment property in, the list below gives can guide you on what sections to include in your search.
The north end of LBI is usually considered the quieter end of the island. High Bar Harbor, Loveladies and North Beach are sections of Long Beach Township. The north end is also home to Barnegat Light and Harvey Cedars but they are different municipalities.
If people like to go on and off the island frequently then they may prefer the center of the island since traffic can be hectic in the summer months. Ship Bottom is where you arrive off the causeway. Surf City Borough is the next town north of the causeway and Brant Beach which is part of Long Beach Township is the next town south of the causeway after Ship Bottom Borough.
The south end of LBI is made up of much smaller sections and it is difficult to notice when you enter and leave a section as you are driving down the boulevard. The next town south of the Long Beach Township section of North Beach Haven is Beach Haven Borough. Holgate which is part of Long Beach Township is south of Beach Haven Borough and is the most southern location of LBI.
